This is a guide to all the centres that offer meditation classes in London, on a regular basis. You can find a nearby class by using the map below.
All classes and times are correct at time of writing (October 2016). Please do check on the official website before attending a class though.
I don’t expect this guide to be finished and it’s updated regularly. If you have your own suggestions for the list or a review please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jamyang Buddhist Centre (Elephant & Castle)
If you can make it over to Jamyang, I highly, highly recommend that you do. I attended a handful of meditation classes there and it offers by far both the best teachers and environment that I’ve come across. The instruction is absolutely superb, as is the gentle approach. Classes aren’t too big either. They also offer lunchtime meditation classes. Their website can be a little hard to navigate so don’t immediately assume they haven’t got what you’re looking for if you can’t find it.

Dzogchen Shamata Meditation classes are based on the teaching of the 7th Dzogchen Rinpoche, one of the most renown masters of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Shamata, calm abiding meditation allows us to bring our mind to a place of peace and equilibrium and prepares us to go deeper into meditation, bringing happiness and resilience to the stress of our modern world. The tradition of Dzogchen is known at the Path of the Great Perfection, the direct approach to our true nature.
